So, I wrote a letter to my grandfather telling him about our new home. He passed before we moved here but he would have loved it here.

Oh Carla, this is so heartfelt and moving ... just beautiful! I know how much you loved your "Papa" ... and I know he would love to see this layout, read your expression of love toward him and see all the things you know he would love about Ft Knox. He has to be smiling down from heaven ... quite proud of his beautiful granddaughter with a heart of gold!! ((hugs)) sweet friend!

Carla, this is so beautifully touching and reads like I'm eavesdropping on you talking to your Papa. I so enjoyed sharing in your thoughts with their mixture of new current life and your young one with your Grandfather. It's all so full of love and memories and you scrapped it in such a special way. I love your journal book and the antique paper and cluster with the precious photo of your Grandfather. Lovely in every way and thank you for sharing and joining in the challenge

This is a beautiful tribute to your grandfather and the letter format is just special. The colors you chose are perfect for this.

Love your approach to this tribute, in the form of a letter to your granddad, especially how you've made it newsy and about the day to day; just the sort of thing you'd talk about around the kitchen table. The papers are great and your little clusters tucked away between the papers are wonderful. Great photo too.

What a warm and loving letter! I love its conversational tone. I have to believe his spirit received it. Your page is beautifully scrapped, too. A wonderful tribute to your dear grandfather!

I love your letter to Papa. Telling him about the things that would interest him and the way things look to you. It is so conversational and intimate. I love your background papers and the way you have placed the text and picture cluster on the open page. Such a sweet letter. Miss you like crazy says it all.

I have to agree with everyone above, this a wonderful way to pay to tribute to your beloved Papa! As I read it, parts of it reminded me of the area where my own grandparents lived and brought a little smile to my face. Your letter also shared with me about part of life that I didn't know completely. You should definitely go to the Slugger factory. DH and I went a few years ago. After the tour they pass out mini slugger bats. Unfortunately, TSA confiscated them from our carry-on. >:-( And even if you don't want to go to the Derby you might like going when there isn't any race and look around. You can tour the race track and stands. The whole area seemed a lot smaller than I imagined. There's a small museum with some hats and dresses on display. lol! I forgot I have pictures from then. Need to try to scrap them.
