Tuesday Challenge March 21 2017: Nature - Woodpecker

I love watching the woodpeckers at my sister’s and although I’ve heard them here had never seen them. This purple feeder was a Christmas gift that I was told would attract woodpeckers. I was dubious, until I opened the door recently and there was a Red-bellied one eating! Last week, I watched this one along with a Downy one ALL day during the big Nor’easter snowstorm. Now that they’ve discovered the feeder, they’ve been around a lot! :)

The background of my photo was stark white because it was all snow, so I extracted the woodpecker and extended the background paper into the frame.

For this layout I used:

SED Winter is Beautiful

ABR SS Emb Templates Nature Walk Masks

ABL Birdsong Collection

SNU SS Styles: Shadow Me

Marj, this amazing! You did such a good job on changing your photo, and the rest of the page is awesome. Beautiful!

I used to have a forest behind my house before I married Hudson and there were woodpeckers back there all the time. Loud! :)

What a great photo and extraction. I'm very interested in your feeder. I can see how you could watch those birds all day. Great you could do it from indoors.

How awesome watching these cute birds. I would love to watching birds feed. We get heaps in our garden as DH feeds ours :)

Wonderful LO Marilyn and love the photo against the BG you did :)

OMG! This is so wonderful, Marilyn! I would have never guess you did an extraction on your photo, excellent job! I love the subtle hints of snowflakes. The coloring looks like frost through a window. It gives me a little shiver. The black ribbon adds some dramatic element to you page.

It would be cool to have a feeder to capture photos of birds. Unfortunately, Cookie and birds are not friends. Sometimes they like to try to bomb dive her and sad to say sometimes they don't get away fast enough.
