journaling:
Smyrna, Tennessee was one of the cities that experienced totality in the solar eclipse! Our church hosted an event and it was such an amazing experience to share with friends and neighbors.

Even though we had already purchased our viewing glasses, the church provided a pair to everyone who came.

My camera wasn’t equipped to handle it, so I’ve borrowed two photos from a church friend. Rolen Waggoner took the two bottom photos from his and Margie’s back yard!

The darkness was eerie. From the lawn at the church we watched all of the street lights turn on automatically, and the birds all quieted. The crickets began to chirp as if it was nighttime.
