The Christmas programs were wonderful! The kids did a great job, and even brought in a few extra little ones at the last minute.
The choir was perfect. We were missing our beloved Miss Patti, she was in the hospital with double pneumonia and waiting for a pacemaker. Hopefully she will be back in time for Christmas. I’m so glad she was able to sing at the Mission last week.
I had a small solo on The First Noel, and conducting was fun. I think I surprised a few people who weren’t aware of my background.
At the end of the service Tim announced that he was leaving his position as Director of Music. He had told the choir on Wednesday after practice, but it didn’t make it any easier to hear. I will miss him terribly. He has been a breath of fresh air to me as I transitioned from leader to choir member after all those years. The choir is in shock, he has been director for almost 21 years.
Dave and I will be taking his place as interim music team while they search for a replacement. So, I’m coming out of retirement for a bit.
After church Dave and I went to Margarita House for lunch, and later went to see the new Star Wars movie. Holy cow!
Wednesday evening was our annual choir party at Tim and Deb’s house. As always, we had a great time and we still have him until December 31st.
