Unesco declared Robben Island in the Western Cape a World Heritage Site in 1999. Robben Island is located in Table Bay, some 6km west of Bloubergstrand, and stands some 30m above sea level. Robben Island has been used as prison and a place where people were isolated, banished and exiled to for nearly 400 years. It was also used as a post office, a grazing ground, a mental hospital and an outpost.

Belle, that is so interesting. I love how you scrapped this with all that wonderful journaling. Table mountain looks pretty rugged too. Thanks so much for taking us to this fascinating location.

Wow, Belle that is so interesting and I enjoyed reading your journaling.  Your photos are so beautiful and I really like how you used one photo large and blended it so beautifully with pretty blue backgrounds and framed the others.  Your title is lovely, I never thought to use a style like that and it really came out so well.  I also really like how you journaled in white on the photo, it looks great!  Thanks for sharing this part of your hometown in the Tuesday Challenge Gallery. :)

Now I must be off to Google to find out more about this beautiful spot which you have scrapped so well.  Love how the larger photo's sky just blends right into the background paper and the addition of the flowers to show how rugged the terrain is.

I am having great enjoyment looking up all these beautiful places where people live.  Love the flower photo embedded in the main one.
