Journaling:
Holy Week is finally here.
All of our preparations are complete, and it’s going to be a busy week. On Palm Sunday, the children passed out palm crosses to everyone during the opening hymn. Laura’s children’s message was great! She compared Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to the Super Bowl Parade! The kids loved it.
Trees are blooming and everyone is sneezing. It’s beautiful, but miserable, too. Our birds are enjoying the spring weather. These two doves have been coming to sit on our fence.
Our Good Friday service was very moving. The music was well done, and we ended in almost complete darkness save for candles in the windows. After the service Dave and I went to O’Charley’s for a light dinner.
Saturday morning we went up to the church to re-set everything for Easter morning. All of the black drapes had to be taken down and replaced with white. Dave decided to stop at Waffle house on the way home, and a lovely young lady (another customer) placed a vase of flowers on our table. She called it a “Travelling Bouquet” and asked us to pass it on to someone else. I shared it with an older couple and they were thrilled!
It’s been warm enough that I was able to sit outside in the sun for a while. Glorious!
