June 2018 ATC Yellow: Chihuly

I am still so upset that I missed the Chihuly exhibit at the NY Botanical Gardens last year because of my fractured foot.   But, I visited Columbus IN while at my sister’s - compliments of my wonderful aunt and uncle - and this huge Chihuly Chandelier was in the Visitors Center along with a few other hanging pieces of glasswork.
Journaling reads:
“Yellow Neon Chandelier by artist Dale Chihuly, contains 900 hand-blown elements in four shades of vibrant yellow.  The piece is 9 feet tall, 6 feet across and weighs 1,200 pounds.  It is the only chandelier lit from inside with neon tubing.”
For this ATC I used:
EBA ATC Backgrounds
SNU SS Styles: Shadow Me
and my own photo

Your ATC is wonderful and I love the background which shows off the yellow chandelier. Beautiful! I'm so glad that you got to see Chihuly's work up close. :clapping_kitty:

His work is just amazing. So recognizable too. I've seen it in a few places. There is a huge one in the casino that is all blue and just striking. Thanks so much for showing us this beautiful Yellow art piece. I appreciate you joining the ATC swap.

My Uncle and Aunt were telling me about the one in the Casino, it sounds awesome.

Oh yay!! I'm glad you got to see some of his amazing work!! And how perfect that the chandelier was yellow! Your extraction is amazing!! At first glance it reminded me of a bowl of mac and cheese with different noodles.  (I guess because I'm hungry, maybe? lol)

Gorgeous photo and card! Your extraction is marvelous, and I like the aged paper background.

There is a similar huge spherical yellow artwork hanging in the atrium at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It must be by the same artist. Very cool!
