Tuesday Challenge 6/19/18 Dad & Uncle Syl

Not feeling well today so a quick page helped!  All of this was done by Cherise, I just added the photo! The only thing is that big flower bothers me and I can’t change it. I can’t believe how young these two look in this photo.
Journaling reads:
“My Dad met Uncle Gene when he went to school and Uncle Syl as a preschooler - his Mom told me she remembered my Grandmother pregnant with my Father. Uncle Gene was my Godfather and Uncle Syl was Armenian with lots of interesting foods and customs and five boys! He was a wonderful storyteller who could hold a room of kids spellbound. After marrying the three couples went out for Saturday dinners, but their home parties were legendary and each had their specialty. My Dad’s was Saurbraten, Uncle Syl’s, Shish-Kabob and Uncle Gene’s an amazing chicken recipe handed down generations. When my Father died at 50, both Uncles supported us but sadly Uncle Gene died a few years later. Uncle Syl lived many years and I loved his stories about WWII and my Dad. I recently found this photo of the two of them and while I don’t know the year they look younger than post-War ones so they must be High School teenagers.”
For this layout I used: COL Exotic JIF Album

Wow Marilyn such a special layout, I love the placement of all your embellishments and your journaling following the curve of the path and then my eye takes me to your blended background, so lovely. PS I love your big flower

What a wonderful page!  I love the photo and the journaling. The curved journaling is very cool. It sounds like the three men had a marvelous relationship.

This was a wonderful choice for that photo. Best friends, relaxing (there's bound to be water somewhere) and enjoying each others company. Love it!

Wow what a great photo to have Marilyn!! Really like the way that you have done the title. Your shadow work looks great, they really look as if they are lifting off the page!!
