journaling:
Life without Ivy would be very boring. I’d really love to know what that’s like! At least Dusty confined himself to eye glasses and remote controls, but Ivy has no such filter. Shoes, magazines, carpet ... you name it, she’s eaten it. Or tried to. We now close every door in the house when we leave and also at night.
But seriously, she’s so darned cute we can’t stay mad for too long. We put her outside after she chewed up a stack of recipe magazines I’d been saving and then we heard a crash. Dave said, “That sounded like the fire pit.” Famous last words! She knocked over a plastic garbage can where I’d been hiding the remnants of fire wood that she had chewed up and when it fell it knocked over the metal fire bowl.
She saw her first deer while we were on a walk, fortunately it was too far away for her to take off after.
We’re doing music again at the church because the new director was in a serious car accident last week. She has multiple broken bones and we aren’t sure when or even ‘if’ she will be able to return. Also, we’re getting really tired of the emergency room at the local hospital. Dave’s BP dropped again but this time we had to call 911. So much for our first rehearsal with the choir. They sent us home at 1:30 am with orders to follow up with the cardiologist.
