I have often wondered about the name!  I assume "pie" because it uses pie filling??

Yes, that’s what  I thought!  And do they come out more like a hard cookie as opposed to soft pie?

They are soft and chewy, you cut them into squares and eat them with your fingers, like a cookie, not a pie.

VERY interesting.   Like a hand-pie.   Or a pie-cookie....   Or maybe just a Cookie Pie Square!  

What a pretty card! And the recipe sounds so good...and adaptable since you can use any pie filling flavor!

We are such a pair, Conda and a lot alike!  When I made my Pumpkin Spice Cake I thought of you  (like me, anything pumpkin - did you happen to catch Pumpkin Life cereal this year? It’s great!).  So that’s why I had to make that card to let you know about the yummy easy cake!   
Anyway, I might have to try these Cookie Pie Squares!.
