Project Life Week 25, 2019
journaling:
Vacation Bible School started Sunday night. “To Mars and Beyond” was so much fun! We had a smaller crowd this year, but the kids had a super time. I was the Mission Commander, so I had my astronaut jacket and my sidekick, EP-32O the puppet. His name came from our theme verse, Ephesians 3:20.
The kids LOVED the music this year! I think their favorite song (mine, too) was “Even When the Lions Roar”. It went along with the lesson about Daniel in the lion’s den.
On the last night we had our annual “Glow Party” for the kids. The last 15 or so minutes we turn off the lights in the sanctuary and they all get glow bracelets and necklaces. They get to dance and just let loose and be crazy for a while. I know our teenage helpers enjoy it just as much as the kids do.
The party was cut short by a huge storm and we herded everyone down to the ground floor as tornado warnings went out across the entire area. The photo of the radar is actually from the next night when another round of storms rolled through. Several small tornadoes touched down that night just north of the church.
On Saturday we had a lovely visit from Missy Page and her son, Sam. Missy and mom worked together in the late 1970’s in Rochelle, IL.
I finally went to the ER on Wednesday and yes, I have a broken rib. Rib #5 on the right is broken and slightly displaced. Nothing they can do for it, but I got good painkillers to help me sleep.
