Project Life Week 27, 2019
journaling:
Slow and mostly easy week! We were a little (okay, a lot) nervous about how Ivy would handle the fireworks. Our neighbors tend to go way overboard, and it always sounds like World War 3 outside. Fortunately Ivy did very well. A lot of barking, and some uneasiness, but I gave her a dose of Benadryl and we watched tv in mom’s room for a while with the curtains drawn. She went in and out of her crate, but it didn’t last very late this year. At least she wasn’t terrified like Dusty used to be.
Mom asked me to bring over her favorite shirt, with the stars and stripes. She has worn this for July 4th for many years, Of course, I took goofy headbands, too and we took a bunch of pictures to send to family.
Even Ivy got into the act! I had a better photo, but it’s too blurry to use. She is so patient and puts up with so much! Dave wasn’t feeling a hundred percent, but he managed to grill hamburgers for the two of us. That’s as close as we got to a real cookout this year.
