Painful Beauty

Glensheen Mansion is a gorgeous historic estate on Lake Superior just north of Duluth. However, I don’t remember much of our tour because kidney stone pain was creeping up on me. We ended that memorable day in the ER. August 11, 2011

Brandy Murry: Value Pack: Captured

Fonts: Brock Script, Ben Krush, An Unfortunate Event, Garamond

I chose to turn a black and white landscape into a sketch. After lightening and increasing the contrast on the photo, I used Filter>Stylize>Find Edges on the top copy of the photo, setting it on overlay mode. On the bottom copy, I used Filter> Sketch>Graphic Novel on the default setting and left it at normal mode.

Stunning building, it looks like the ones found in Newport RI. Those were amazing times to live!!!Super LO. Sad you have such a bad memory so I hope you go back so you can see it.

This is lobely and your sketch is really beautiful.  I remember Jody using Find Edges, but you’ve expanded that even more and thanks for telling us how, I’m going to try this.    I like the colors you used around your photo.
And oh noooooooooo....   I’ve had kidney stones so (literally) feel your pain, it’s unlike no other!  No wonder you don’t remember much about that building and I’d bet that’s all you see when you look at the pic!

Oh, oh, oh! This is a place you won't forget. Beautiful extraction and sketch. I like the layers on the journaling tag. Nice pops of red and green color. Hope you will not need the ER again - for anything!
