Tuesday Challenge 12/10/19 - Sparkle: Lights For Mom

Journaling reads:
“My Mom loved Christmas lights, well actually she loved Christmas. For years she wanted a huge walk-though wreath for the front door, but finally settled on this one. In December 2012 we knew she was leaving us, but hoped she’d be here for Christmas. On the 5th my cousin and her 4 year old came to put up Christmas lights, saying “Lights always make me feel better”. And those lights did. Mom left us on December 8th and I remember thinking as she was carried out of our house how appropriate it was that she left through the brightly lit Christmas lights. Strangely, about a week later half of the lights stopped working, almost like a sign that someone was missing… Each year since then I’ve put up those lights thinking of Mom, these past few on the 8th in her memory. Last year I added little lit trees to the steps. And each time I see them sparkle, I think of my Mom.”
