journaling:
Hobby Lobby has huge flamingos! They stand around 4 feet tall, and if mom was still here and well enough, we would have these out on the deck! She loved flamingos and had quite a collection.

I finished my book club read for January. I hope to complete the entire year, it’s for Brenda Novak’s online book club.

Our grandson Preston got a new fish! I remember buying fish for his dad, when he was that age!

Saturday morning a bunch of us radical women from church met for breakfast at First Watch. I had never been there, and we had to wait forEVer, but it was soooo good!

Our church is struggling as are many churches. Our attendance is poor, families have left the church, and we’re all tired of playing the blame game. We had a chance to blow off some steam and really talk about the future.

My friends Page and Carey were there, Carey has left, Page has not. They were co-chairs of the Worship Ministries for the past 18 months, and the changes they made (by request) didn’t keep anyone there, and the ones who remained didn’t fully embrace the new styles. I am the chair for this year, my co-chair was one of the members who left without a word. Lots of hurt and raw feelings all around. I hope to help us get back to “The Heart of Worship”.

Such an interesting and heartfelt week and your journaling is written so well.  So sorry to hear about your church, I know you are active and it must be so difficult to feel helpless at keeping it all together.  These are trying times for humanity in so many different ways...   I was interested to read about “First Watch”;  one just opened here but I haven’t tried it yet and I didn’t know it was a chain.  I’m much more inclined to try it seeing your photos and hearing your opinion.   So sweet to see your Grandson, it does blow one’s mind when little ones show us how time has passed.   And, I didn’t know there was such a thing as an online Bookclub, that must be fun!   I like the colors you used here, sorta mimics all the dreary January days we’ve had in NJ.

We have several First Watch restaurants here -- everyone in our part of Florida must love eating out! :D I enjoyed your photos and I always enjoy reading about your week, good and bad. I suspect that, no matter what changes you make, or if you make no change at all, some people will stay and some will leave. Sad.

We have several First Watch restaurants here in TX, although not close to were we live. We went once to one closer to our daughters and nephew and his wife. If I recall it was quite yummy.

Sorry to hear of your rough week with your church. Hopefully everything will smooth out in the end. Your Grandson looks so happy with his new fish!
