Weekend Challenge 3/21/2020: Animals - Uribe Animalia

I went to a local museum for a drawing class and afterwards the instructor gave out passes for the museum’s newest exhibit  “Animalia” by Federico Uribe, a Columbian artist now living in Miami.  Uribe had created many different animal scenes constructed out of all kinds of interesting and meaningful things.  And not only was each scene and sculpture amazing, its presentation was gorgeous and I was in constant awe!
This is “The Reef”; it’s hard to see, but it’s made of many different and very clever objects.  Fish were sculpted from flip-flops, coral from old pill bottles, hangers, plastic spoons and forks, straws and old balloons.  Hanging from the ceiling were plastic-bottle fish!  I could go on and on - there’s too many to mention but you might be able to pick some out.
I was looking forward to attending another Art Class a few days later that would explore the exhibit and then create a project related to it, but sadly it was cancelled as the Corona Virus arrived.  A few days after that the entire Museum was closed.
For this layout I used:
SNU SS Die Cut Alpha
SNU Under the Sea Paper
SNU SS Styles: Shadow Me
SNU SS DLOT Blendability (large mask)
LLO Mermaid Cover Paper
MPE SS Layout Templates: Modern Rustic 3 (Frames)
and my own photos

Wow how cool was that?!? So much to see, so mesmerizing. I'm glad you added the inset photos so we could see some of the artwork up close. Love the fish scale paper, perfect touch.

This would have been a very interesting art exhibit to see. Marilyn, you page is great. I like the small photos along the bottom.

Just the other weekend I took a book I had in my bookcase that really belonged to Ruth so the children could now own it and enjoy it..... Animalia. I just love the artwork in that book and the fun at seeing all the different things for each letter of the alphabet.

WOW, this is so unique and creative! I love the reef scene and how you added the scales and water. I wish something like this would come to our neck of the woods.

This is such a fun page! It must have been amazing to see this in person. I like the background you used along with the closeups of parts of the reef. I looked this sculptor up on the internet and saw some of the other unique, innovative works he has created. Thanks for sharing your experience!
