Before you panic, he's out of ICU and improving. Sepsis caused (probably) by a severe UTI.

journaling:
What a mess. I’ve shared a lot of humorous memes on FaceBook, but it’s a roundabout way of coping with this Covid-19 virus. It’s frightening to watch the numbers of infections and casualties grow each day. “Pandemic” is now a common word in our everyday vocabulary.

There was no church on Sunday, and while a day off was nice, by the middle of the week I no longer knew what day it was. Sunday’s services have always been a touchstone for me, a starting point to my week. I don’t have that now.

People are panic shopping, and it really does resemble hurricane prep back in Florida. But it’s sad, too, because the hoarding has kept others from getting supplies they desperately need. Dave is staying home, he already has enough medical issues without possibly being exposed to this.

There is a whole new set of phrases being used. You can see some of them in the word art I made.

I found some pretty flowers to brighten things up a bit.

Walking Ivy is still my main exercise every day. It’s good for about two miles, give or take a bit. Cooking has become a venture to see what’s in the freezer and what we can do with it. Along with paper products being sold out, there is hardly any meat in the stores. Our Publix has steaks. Seriously?

By Friday, when we were just settling into a (even more) boring routine at home, I had to call 9-1-1 for Dave. He’s not been feeling well and skipped both therapy sessions this week. Grumpier than usual, and not wanting to take his meds. Yes, I know, but men.... Bah. I spent 6 hours trying (and failing) to help him out of his favorite chair to get to the bathroom, but when he started to shake and shiver and became incoherent, I called.

Of course, due to this virus everything is on lockdown and I couldn’t even get in to be with him in the ER. All I could do was wait at home. They admitted him, and he got three units of blood! One in the ER and two in his room. They tested for Covid-19 and it was negative, thank God. As of Saturday, he was in ICU for close monitoring.

So glad to read your note. Even tho not covid19 this is just as scary, especially when med supplies are so scarce and you can't be with him. Liked your spot of bright yellow flowers. Uplifting at any time, but really needed right now.

I'm glad to hear Dave is out of ICU. You need this, right? :(  Your PL pages will be  a fantastic record of your year and I always enjoy your illustrations.

Oh Becky, how scary - and in the middle of all the rest of this bizarre new way of life.  You have chronicled it all so well and I like the different word art, jokes and photos you included.  I also like how you journaled in white on the darker background, it looks great.  Thank so much for your precursor about Dave, whew.   It sure did making the rest of your journaling easier.  Sending good wishes to both of you.
