Journaling: The natural monument of Semuc Champey lies deep in the jungles of Guatemala. The Cahabón River passes under a 300-meter limestone bridge while a small portion of the river forms a series of gorgeous limestone pools atop the natural bridge. After a steep climb to a viewing platform, David and Rheanne saw this view from above. They also swam in the pools for a refreshing escape from the jungle heat. Afterwards they took a tour through limestone caves nearby, at points swimming while holding a rope and jumping blindly into a pool below. Finally, the tour climaxed in a ride down the raging river with each person floating on an innertube while holding onto the feet of the person behind them, steered by the guide in the back. It was worth the rugged ten-hour drive it took to see this secluded natural beauty spot.
