Prairie Trillium NL 4/27

My purple shade is maroon - the color of the little wildflowers.

Journaling:  The Prairie Trillium is an early spring blooming plant with maroon flowers and lovely mottled leaves. It is a shade loving plant that will go dormant in the summer. My mother and her sister loved woodland flowers and would bring back plants to my backyard that has lots of trees and shade. Sometimes they would not tell me they had planted anything and I would be happily surprised in the spring. They learned they had to let me know what they were doing, or I might accidentally pull them up, thinking they were weeds. This group of trillium started  about ten years ago. I now enjoy lovely wildflowers everywhere.

I enjoyed your journaling on this. What a wonderful gift to receive wild flowers and they are so hard to transplant. These look so lovely with the colorful flowers. I love your added sketch flowers.

What delightful flowers they are! I love your photo and reading your journaling. I like the sketched flowers, too, as the perfect accents for your page.
