"This painting is by the landscape artist and plantsman Sir Cedric Morris. Irises were his passion. I too love irises and wish I could grow even half of the plants he depicts here. The painting is special to me for another reason: the hills in the background are  on the Essex/Suffolk border, a stone’s throw from my daughter’s cottage. I loved this painting so much that I had a large print made and it hangs behind by bed for me to look at every day."

This is so interesting Hilary and I enjoyed reading about how you like irises and your painting.  I especially like seeing the painting and your photo and how you put your background together, it's lovely.     I enjoyed your page.

Irises are one of my favourite flowers as they remind me of my aunt. The painting is lovely & I love the journaling.
