SG 2021 Project Holiday Traditions Wk 4 - Sugar Cookies

Journaling reads:
"My Mom had a really good sugar cookie recipe and through the years she made cut-out cookies with countless children.  A few Christmas Eves she took my cousins, my sister and I to our house and we baked them.  Her motto was you are never too young to make cut-out cookies and we’d sit babies on our laps while baking and have toddlers cut the dough. This tradition continues and I’ve recently made Chanukah cookies with my little neighbors, one an infant in a sling on her Mom.  We always put colorful sugar and sprinkles on the cookies, but one year Mom found a recipe to “paint” them using egg and food coloring so the cookies became even more colorful and the activity even more fun and creative.  This photo shows Alison, my Christmas “elf” decorating cookies in 2012.  It was the December my Mom died and the recipe card shown here was my ScrapGirls Cookie Exchange contribution.  I was actually sitting next to my Mom scrapping it and she died a few hours later so I dedicated the card to her.  It shows a photo of her original recipe which has been passed on to many.  I even printed the card to share with friends and family who came to her funeral.  I’ll always think of my Mom when making cut-out cookies and it’s nice that so many others have that memory too."
For this layout I used:
CR Cozy Christmas Add On
SNU SS Styles Shadow Me
CWX SS Eternal Memory Template
BTC Advent Glitter
Christmas Spirit Font

Oh, Marilyn, what a sweet memory. Your card is beautiful, and I love how the trees and snowflakes look embossed and painted. I am so envious of people who do pretty sugar cookies. I was never very good at it. This is a great memory page!

Oh, gosh, Marilyn, this brought tears to my eyes. Your Mom's recipe was the favorite of my kids and we always had fun decorating the cookies. I also kept some plain and told any visitor who wanted one that they had to decorate it first with the supplies I gave them. (Always good for more laughs and fun.)

Sweet page. I like the pastel background and your glittery title.

Thank you, I thought of your boys as two of those "little ones".   :xmastree:

What heartfelt journaling. Thank you so much Marilyn for sharing it here so we could read it easily. The masked cookie photo on the light background looks great.
