SNU SSDLT Fade Out
JRE Family Faces Papers

Now the kids have left and started their own lives away, we decided that it was time to consider downsizing our living arrangements. As Iain was not keeping good health we decided to build a Granny Flat on his acreage property so we could be closer to him if he needed assistance. After this decision was made and before the contract was signed, David had a heart issue & my hip was getting quite bad so we had definitely made the right decision. We had lived in our old two-storey, four bedroom home for 46 years so we had quite a bit of stuff to organise & cull. We finally got the keys to the flat in February 2020 and moved in the May of that year. With the passing of our eldest son the move was not going well and we still have quite a bit of stuff to sort. But this year we will be selling the family home which has been in David’s family for over 100years & taking up permanent residence at our new address.

Oh, your move must be so bittersweet.  While you know it's the right decision for both of you, it must be hard to give up a home you've lived in for so long and has been in David's family for very long.   Great photos and wonderful journaling Larianne and I Like how you set your page up.   Good luck to you in your new home.

This is an awesome page showing the huge change in your life. Your journaling is wonderful but sad too. Your new living space looks to be perfect for this stage in your life. Great background papers too.

I love your photos and journaling. I'm sorry to here about the passing of your son and of all the ill health. It's sad to sell the family home. I hope you will be happy in the granny flat. I would love to retire to Knysna with my daughter on their farm.

Your story is similar to mine, its hard loosing a son isn't it? my prayers are with you, so sorry this move is such a bittersweet moment for you. Your new home looks perfect and health issues are one reason we have moved from a 2 story home into a 1 level....no more stairs yeh :) I expect it was hard packing all your furniture and memories of your home, I know I gave so much stuff to the Salvation Army. Your photos are fabulous and I hope you settle in well on this new adventure for you both :)

You have created a lovely, heartfelt page. I am glad you have found a good place to live and pray the pain of losing your son will ease. Downsizing is never easy - I've got to start culling things at my house - where does all this "stuff" come from!

This is one of those simple, yet amazingly stunning layouts.  You put so much heart and feeling in your words.  So many things here are not easy, but you captured your journey so sweetly.
