MariJ Posted January 17, 2022 As soon as I saw the wheelchair, I knew you were on your way home, yay! At least I hope you were on your way with how slow things were moving. I like the way you divided your page for the two days and the colors you used, you've used this collection so well. Those tanks look kinda funny sitting in the wheelchair but I'm glad they arrived. Looking forward to the next installment and enjoying your latest great page. 1 Quote Link to comment
Celestine Posted January 17, 2022 I think it is pretty interesting how you fill your pages with so much text, yet each one looks so different. Good use of the patterned papers. I am so happy you got to finally leave at the end of the day. Whenever I was dealing with my grandmother's discharges, I was always angry that it took so long. By the time we would leave, she would be exhausted. I think you didn't care HOW tired you were. I look forward to reading about the ADA apartment. 1 Quote Link to comment
scrapgran Posted January 17, 2022 So pleased you FINALLY got home. I can’t believe how some of these CARE places can be so slack. I hope you are keeping well now that you have your ‘independence’ again. 1 Quote Link to comment
Florida granny Posted January 18, 2022 Yay! You are on your way! Please don't let this be your last page. I feel like we've been on this amazing often frightening journey with you through your wonderful journaling. I want to know what happened next. Your page design is eye-catching and always different; you are amazing! 1 Quote Link to comment
BarbieB Posted January 18, 2022 @MariJ - My mom was smart enough to use the wheelchair to "carry" the tanks up to the apartment.@Celestine and @Florida granny - Got my homework assignment. Well the first thing I wanted to do that night was take a shower. I hadn't had a shower since February 17th. That involved me sitting in the chair while my sister washed my hair and helped me wash myself off. Oh how I had missed running water. They got me in a robe to dry off a bit. Then I got in my PJs and climbed into bed. I then proceeded to fall over face first. It was just into bedding and pillows but my mom and sister were freaking out. It was kind of funny. They didn't see the humor in it. I was still working on coordination and clearly the whole day was exhausting. Quote Link to comment
MariJ Posted January 18, 2022 I can only imagine how exhausted you must have been after the day and the 44 before that that you had - and the excitement of being home. Showers should not be underestimated, they are wonderfully "better" making. But, I've found they also are more exhausting than you realize. Until you get out........ ? 1 Quote Link to comment
BarbieB Posted January 18, 2022 @MariJ - I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm 39 years old and I use the shower chair to this day. It is one of the energy conservation techniques both Occupational and Respiratory recommend. I also sit on the toilet seat while brushing my teeth. Standing is a waste of energy... when our energy is so precious and limited why not spend in on something better. 1 Quote Link to comment
Florida granny Posted January 18, 2022 The fact that you are still here is a testament to your innate strength and your wise use of energy! Thanks for letting us know about your first day home! 1 Quote Link to comment
