When we bought our new house, we knew there was a farm immediately behind our property. We had heard that the cows would come through from time to time and we thought that would be pretty cool. What was unexpected was how often they come by and just how much we LOVE them! Life comes to a literal halt when we see them. Dinner has been late more than once because the cows showed up! We stop and pick grass to feed them over the fence or put lawn clippings out. We spend hours feeding and talking to them. Some even eat out of my hand and let me pet them! I never knew how much I would love cows! Being newly retired, they even make me miss the animals from work a little bit less. Slowing down during retirement was expected; slowing down to enjoy cows every day was not! We never want to miss an opportunity to appreciate and enjoy them!
