WOW, that is so cool and your photos are amazing, I can see why you find this road so interesting.   You put this page together so well and I especially like the road in the background.  

A helicopter ride in this vicinity would have been magical! Ironically, this is the road that ruined our old van many, many years ago when we were on a tent camping trip in the Black Hills. We managed to limp it home, but had to sell it fairly quickly after that. Poor thing was never the same! I couldn't agree more about how gorgeous this roadtrip was. To this day I think it was one of the most magnificent we've seen.
