Text: On a trip to the Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge I snapped this picture of what I thought was a bald eagle. Editing in Camera Raw revealed that it was a Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura). They are part of Mother Nature’s cleaning crew. They have a wingspan of up to six feet, a body length of nearly three feet and can weigh up to five pounds.

So Gorgeous. I love the heart and the whispy feathers blended behind it. Turkey vultures are one of my favorite birds - the clean crsip background is just perfect.

Amy-I think they are one of the ugliest birds!!!  We see them daily here!

I really like the pieced heart and the way you used some of the pieces for the photo.  I see these birds daily and think they are just so very ugly!  LOL. Lovely layout for an ugly bird. 🤣 Your photo quality is awesome, great shots!

@SodScrap Vultures are one of the first species I worked with so I have a very tender spot for them.   You should see them as babies!

I love your page! Those shapes are wonderful and your photos are gorgeous. I love the soft colors and the feathers in the background. The whole page is a WOW!
