Photo Information for Football Cross Stitch

Ohhhhhh...   That's too bad that Cooper's sports career was derailed by injuries, but I'm happy to hear he's doing well now.  Having gone through problem shoulder issues, I can really sympathize, but that was my first surgery and I know how good it feels that it works so well now.  I enjoyed your story and reading about the cross stitch - you did an awesome job with the pattern and I really like how you scrapped it.  It's nice to know this wonderful piece of art is safely kept by his Dad in case Cooper ever wants it.

That's a cool project! I can understand why you put it away; somehow it loses meaning when you know your son won't get to enjoy it. I'm happy to hear Cooper has the use of his arm but what he went through!! Yikes! Thanks for sharing the story and the photo of your beautiful work.

Such a shame about Coopers injury but thankfully he is doing well now :) and I can understand why you put it away in the cupboard for a while.
Its such a wonderful page though :)

That's terrible that he go hurt so badly. I'm glad that he is a lot better now. What a disappointment this must have been for him. I love the cross stitch. Lovely layout. Great journaling and a lovely memory page for him later on.

Great job! I recently just starting cross stitching again.  I love your journaling! I hope e gets better soon.

Thanks, Laura. This was six years ago now, so he is doing very well. I have a photo folder called DIY projects, and this seemed like a good one for the "craft" challenge. Cross stitch has become so hard on my eyes, I rarely do it anymore. I've been thinking of taking up a fiber craft like weaving since I think it won't tax my eyes so much. Maybe someday.....

What Cooper (and you) went through sounds difficult, physically and emotionally.  Happy to hear he has full use of his shoulder.  That would have been tough to have so many problems with it at that age, for so long.  Love your cross stitch and how you adapted it.  I used to cross stitch quite a bit - that's what started my crafting journey, actually, and used to be the only thing I was decent at.
