Colors of Summer

I know it's supposed to be Spring, but there isn't much going on around here yet. The grass is mostly uncovered from the snow, so I'm going with last year's photos.

I did this for the 4/14 Color Challenge. It's the first time I've done a challenge so be kind. I hope it isn't TOO bright for everyone. I am VERY fond of green. :)

I really do know how to use the papers, but I just have so much fun using my own photos for backgrounds sometimes. The background is actually the right side of the gerbera daisy photo. I transformed it then tried out a fleet of filters on it finally settling on some blurs (can't remember which ones). The photos just have 80 px strokes at 60% opacity around them. I did erase parts of the overlapping segments that were really distracting, but not all of them. The font is Phyllis D with an outer glow applied. Created in PS CS2 on an iMac.

The quote at the bottom is:

“Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” Song of Solomon 2:12

I was planning to play with this some more, but I need to move on to other things. Can you tell I LOVE color? :D

Thank you! I did take all the photos myself. My little Sony CyberShot and I are becoming good friends (and a little knowledge of PhotoShop doesn't hurt either). I can't wait until more colorful beauties arrive in my garden again.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks one can never have too much green! :D

I love these colors~~you have used all my favorites! We don't have spring here yet either so I have been scrapping flowers from last year in hopes that spring will arrive. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous flowers.

"TOO bright", never. Wonderful use of color and the background is just the perfect compliment to the bold colour of your flowers. Great Job.
