This is just a carbon copy....I mean "lift"....of a Hewlett Packard ad featured in May/June 2007, Scrapbooks, etc. magazine.
Many thanks to Melissa Renfro's wonderful "Little One" page kit. The colors are fun enough to be whimsical, yet the patterns are rich and elegant. Great kit!
Program: Microsoft Digital Image
Technique: Letter discs
1. Melissa's alphabet included in the kit is great for these. Choose one letter at a time.
2. Put an edge/border around the letter in white or off-white.
3. Add a bevel filter.
4. Make a circle over the letter.
5. Fill with one of Melissa's papers.
6. Also put an edge/border around the circle in white or off-white.
7. Apply the bevel filter to the circle. It now should look like a disc.
8. Add a shadow to the circle. Since it will be standing out from the page, make it a soft edge and subtle shadow.
9. Move the circle layer behind the letter.
10. Add a sharp dark drop down shadow to the letter, just barely peaking out.
11. Insert a curved word to place on top of the letter. In my LO, I wanted the word "Dinosaur" so I have the large "D" and then the curved letters "inosaur" are on the body of the letter. Sorry, I wanted to keep my file size smaller on this website, so it doesn't show up too well here, but it looks really cool printed out.
12. Add a tiny flower or other embellishment to your letter.
