DH showed up in my studio with a lizard on his thumb. This is his story and, well, mine. It was kinda funny. I used all sorts of filters to get this lizard looking warholish.

This is very cool. How are you girls doing this stuff? Which program are you using and what is the effect called? Very interesting to look at!

I use Photoshop and used the filter: Artistic Cutout. With a second copy of the original photo, I dropped the background out leaving only the lizard and applied another filter: Sketch Torn Edges with my colours set to red and black. Then I made just the lizard a bit transparent. Finally, I used a waxy crayon brush in yellow and blue to scribble on top.

I too want to know how to do this look .. first of all, what type of pictures work well with this effect? High contrast? Interesting textures? Strong lines?? And then what filters do you apply? (I use PSP so not sure what the translations are from PSE or PS but I'd like to learn).
Hoping to make it tonight to see if I can learn some of this!

This is how I learn: try it and see. Don't use the original photo, and then just see what your program can do, play, play, play and if you don't like it, hit control Z.

This layout is sweet. You're full of cool stuff V. I love the journaling...how you did the two versions of the story. But the whole layout is cool!

Great lo and love the journaling. Unfortunately ds wants either a gecko or an iguana for Christmas, and I'm scared to piecves of either, so maybe since seeing this layout I'll be able to face that fear in time to get him one. (Highly doubtful as far as me actualy touching it though). Anyhow, seeing this lo shows me that they aren't really all that mean, or are they? Love the layout anyhow and tfs!
