Love On The Beach
For the High Noon Crop Challenge. Had to look up the word "ephemera." Used this definition: from Gk. ephemeros "lasting only one day," from epi "on" + hemerai, dat. of hemera "day," from PIE *amer- "day." Sense extended to short-lived insects and flowers; general sense of "transitory". So, the writing in the sand is ephemera. Not really my part of the country, though, since this was CA -- but it was a nature pic I had been wanting to do something with.
Journaling:
We look in awe and wonder at the Pacific Ocean beach. The sand is flecked with what appears to be gold dust and the ocean is a deep sapphire blue. We have this tropical paradise almost to ourselves. I walk along the tide's edge hunting for perfectly formed shells. Carson searches in the shallow ocean waters for sand dollars to give me. Then, I notice him taking pictures with his camera. I walk over to him. Looking down, I see the heart containing our names he has etched in the sand. Can he possibly know what this does to me? How it makes me feel? I think he is totally unaware of the magnitude of this small action. I feel so loved and cherished. My love for him swells all the more until I feel my heart will burst. His name is etched in my heart forever ... this man ... this husband of mine.
