I've struggled with this, first trying to brush the edges of about 10 pictures to make them all blend but then I decided to pare down and simplify. Do you think it would look better if I duplicated the filmstrip and placed them end to end so it would span the entire corner? Is journaling obviously missing? I couldn't figure out where to put it.

No journaling is necessary on layouts like this that speak volumes by their photos! I like the filmstrip the way it is, too. It's truly a wonderful layout! Thanks for posting it.

This looks wonderful just the way it is! I like the film strip right there. Don't worry about the journaling, sometimes it's easier just to add a small date somewhere,

I don't think the filmstrip needs to continue to the bottom. The dragonfly has it nicely anchored. Beautiful choice of colors - they really set off your photo.
