Summer at our House

Apart from some container gardening (which is more practical with all the wildlife around) most of the property is left 'as is' . We love the wildflowers, the grasses and the indigenous vegetation all around us.

The deer take a leisurely walk through, enjoying nature's salad bar as they go. The bunnies always find something tasty to nibble or dig up and the raccoons visit too. Birds abound, insects are all over...and the bats feast on the mosquitoes. The swallows help by raising a brood in a nestbox every year.

The bears move through quietly enough, and cougars too, though we have never seen them ourselves.

And this is what our 'yard' looks like in June. The pictures were taken this week and about 10 days ago. It still looks like that when I look out the window :D

I had so much fun playing with these SG goodies :

Dianne Miller's Fiber Paper Templates

Thao Gosgrove's Pretty Primavera Paper Templates

Melissa Renfro's Lifted Photos and Lifted Photos 2

Angie Brigg's Fit to be Tied

Syndee Nuckles' Sanded Edges

Cheryl Barber's Chipboard Style

Then I added : a butterfly from Dover and a date stamp by Terry Maruca

Fonts used were 'Peanuts' and Rockwell.

Beautiful Meisie! I love the dark green background with the hint of the flowers in it. Awesome photos. How lucky you are to have such a beautiful backyard.

Wow, Meisie! What a blessing to see this every morning! I really like how you put together this LO with the multiple photos and the subtle background. :D

It sure is a blessing to live here (Vancouver Island Gail :) ) even though the daisies are not good for hay fever, especially poor hubby has a hard time...but he won't cut them down either, likes the flowers too much :D and although you can't see them in these pictures, the foxgloves are in there in full bloom too.

I love living here.....

I love the way your LO matches your title. Your garden is lovely. We're headed for Vancouver Island on Sunday - taking our RV on the ferry from Port Angeles. On the Olympic Penninsula, the foxgloves are dominating much of the landscape, and we just came from Alaska, where the lupines are in full force, and bears abound. Isn't the northwest beautiful!
