Our family had a wonderful tradition. We called it Kid’s Day. Every year the week before school started we would have a day where the children would pick all the activities from the time we got up in the morning until late at night. Usually the day would start out with a hike near our home. Everyone would pick their favorite mini cereal package and we would hike the hill, watch the sun come up and eat our cereal. Next would be exploring some nearby area with some sort of snacks. Then it would be home to swim in the river. and lunch. A matinee movie was the next activity followed by pizza and a video. It varied from year to year but it was a wonderful, happy day that I am sure we will all remember!
