Well here I am with my first response to a Challenge!
we had been having long dreary cold weather days and the tones of the ART in the Challenge matched my mood and I started out working in monochromatic colours etc.
However I had to put it away for a few days <LIFE HAPPENS!> and I woke one morning to find the sun streaming in. As I dressed, the old hymn tune learned at the age of ten, when I first came to know my Saviour, was in my head, and I began to wonder if I couldn't build my layout with rectangles and squares cut from my own photo's! Suddenly I was INSPIRED!
BACKGROUND:
Charleston Lake '07 DSC_1643 - A photo I took of a swampy pond and wondered why I had bothered - it looked so grungy <a word I see a lot at SG's> AH more inspiration!
SG_Refresh_LCO_GrungeTexture.jpg
PSE5 Photographic Warming Filter#81
Used Saturation mode/ opacity 85%
Change size to 12X12 @ 300dpi
Now I knew before I came downstairs what pictures I was going to use; I had to "cheat" a little because I have not seen the Ocean in years; but way back when we still had one daughter at home we did a motorhome trip to the Maratimes and while traveling the CABOT TRAIL I made Gord pull over at a certain spot, clamber down these slippery wave-washed rocks and take the picture of the Ocean waves splashing against the rocks. Daughter #3 was QUITE put out with me to put her beloved Dad at risk for a picture!
So as I DID have a hand in it - I hope it won't be considered cheating? All the other photo's (I used 6 in all) I took this summer with my Nikon D50.
EMBELISHMENTS:
BHA_PersianBreeze_BrownWeedGrass4
Easy Element Leaf Brushes
FONTS:
"MY FATHER'S WORLD" PSE5 - Text Artwork
ROCK ETCHINGS: LD Knick Knack
Tried to separate the cropped shapes with Frames, Bevels, Shadows and "Outer Glows"
I love all the LO's that have been posted so far! Hope I can find time to do another "Challenge" soon!
