First LO using goodies from the month of October. I loved the burgundy colored papers that were in this month's kit, so I wanted to use them somehow. Last week I spent about $20 on some goodies from the boutique, and this is my first time trying them out. I wanted to make sure I put money to good use. So how do you think I did? Amazingly I didn't create my own paper this time around (I usually have to create some type of textured paper since my collection is just starting)....everything is a scrapgirl product, I altered the color/hue of a few items to get the desired effect. I didn't feel the need to add any more embellishments because I felt the main background paper had enough detail on it's own with the sketch on the lower left side. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

*this layout is not the original, I went ahead and changed the color of the text, I got it close to one of the gold colors of one of the papers. The text now pops out a little more, you can see it a lot better.

Today was payday, so I'll probably be visiting the boutique soon :)

Do you think the text should have been in a lighter color? I tried doing it, but I couldn't get it to a color I would have liked it to be.

What a sweet photo! The red and gold really pop here. I think a lighter color for the text would really help. Perhaps a warm, golden yellow to match the papers?

I love the way you've used all these papers! Especially the mats behind the photo. Yes, I'd say you've gotten your money's worth. This is a lovely layout. You could use a lighter shade for your text, but honestly, it looks nice and weathered to me. Just about right!

I really liked the layout just the way it is! Your photo really stands out, and the background papers compliment it....I think it is a great job!!
