Marissa's Memories of her Great Grandmother
My granddaughter came to visit this summer. We had fun looking through my mother’s cedar chest. This layout will be a precious reminder to my granddaughter of a great-grandmother she never met, but is learning to love though photos, journals and the things my mother wore and loved.
I used Paint Shop Pro XI to create the layout.
Scrapgirls items I used are:
SNU Victoriana Paper Mini
SNU Victoriana Embellishments SuperMini
MRE Treasures Embellishments
Two of the Victoriana papers are the background as well as frames on two of the pictures. I added a small border to the pictures of my granddaughter, using a color in the picture then pasted the picture onto the Victoriana paper. I cropped the layers to the frame size needed and added another small border to make it look like a frame.
One of the pictures has a frame made with the lace from the Victoriana Embellishments. I cropped the lace thinner, altered the color to match the background better, then pasted the lace onto the picture and stretched it to fit the side of the picture. The lace is duplicated 3 times and placed around the remaining edges. Then a combination of the Makeover tool, the Clone tool and the Smudge tool blended the edges of the lace and any parts that didn’t quite match.
I used the PSP color-changing tool to change the color of the shirt in the middle picture from blue to a rose color to match the rest of the collage.
The hand with the flowers seems to be symbolic of my mother reaching out to my granddaughter, and the heart on the chain is the bond linking the generations.
This picture will be a cherished treasure.
