For Shari (PV Mom of 2)
Here is my swap for Shari. I used the colors in her photo of the Prescott Valley sign as my color inspiration. Since the house is that same blue/green, it worked. For theme I really thought about her journaling and her thoughts of leaving hearth and home and following love to Arizona. As I read the Dickinson quote I thought you could take it two ways. "Where thou art"--meaning Shari, herself...or "thou" as if she is speaking to KC. I had this lo designed and redone several times. I could not quite get each idea to 'come together' the way I imagined. This AM my DS was watching over my shoulder and giving input, so much of the finish work is his idea--especially the faded logo repeated on the background. I put my supplies in the File Info but I have not figured out how to read those once they are posted since the redo of the site....
Shari, I hope you like this lo. If I did it again tomorrow it would look altogether different again! I looked up PV on the map and decided that if our family ever gets west again we'll have to go that way since you have a scenic highway going right through!
Shari's journaling:
When KC and I first started dating he told me that the company he works for would most likely be moving to Prescott, Arizona. So I knew early on that if our relationship lasted he would be taking me away from my family in Santa Barbara and the only home I ever knew. I had a pretty good feeling from the start that KC and I were meant to be together so I had to come to grips with the fact that Arizona would be my future home. A couple of months before we got married we made a trip to Prescott with the intention of figuring out which area we wanted to live and maybe find an apartment. We took one day and looked at some houses that were for sale too. I really didn't expect to become a homeowner at the age of 23 but that's what happened. This house was brand new! Never lived in! There weren't any houses on either side or behind so it looked like a huge piece of property when we bought it! With three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1400 square feet of living space at only $85,900 how could we pass that up? In California we probably would have never been able to afford a home of our own. We closed escrow the day before our wedding and moved in just three short weeks later.
