Finally! I have made my first page. I'm not good with figuring out size, so if this is too large I'm sure someone will let me know, and if it is I do apologize. Devin is our newest grandson. I have quite a case of scrappers block and could not think of a good page, so I just started with his photo, added the two-toned name and decided to try the vellum. I made up the journaling as a stab at humor. I used a punched border ribbon I found in the freebies. I made it black to go with my colors, I hope that's okay. Hey, I'm usually a paper scrapbooker, but this could be addicting. LOL. Thanks. Lynn

P.S. I used Paint Shop Pro. Also, I don't know if you can see the text well enough, but it says

"Hey folks. Hey, look down! I'm down here! Don't you dare leave without me! I could make it very hard for you both if you do! I can, you know!"

Darn! I just checked it again and in trying to decrease the file size, I've caused it to be distorted.

I think that is a beautiful, artistic design and that you did a wonderful job, especially if it is

your first attempt!!!! Keep scraping!!!

Beautiful LO for a first one. Love the idea of vellum to focus on the face of your little one. Great job.

Very cute! And if anything, it shows up a little small in the gallery. Try making your layouts around 100K. Yours looks like it is almost 9, so you could be more than 10 times bigger. Your layout is really cute! What a sweetie you have. Fun journaling too. Nice job! TFS.

Thanks so much, ladies. I seem to still be lost around here. I made this post earlier but I don't see it, and I made another one but I think now it was in the wrong place, and I can't figure out where it is. LOL. I was trying to find out if my coloring the ribbon black was against the rules or copyright. It was one of the freebies, but I colored it to go with my page. If I was wrong in doing that, please someone let me know. And thanks for the tip on the size. I thought it was way too huge a file at first so I kept trying to get it small enough. It would look nicer at slightly bigger size. Thanks so much. Lynn

I love your journaling, that is perfect for a baby LO. i size my LO for posting on the web at 6 inch by 6 inches and 100K. Don t worry you will get the hang of it. we all (or at least me...lol) had troubles when we first started.

Hi Lynn! Wow! I can't believe that this is your first LO! It's beautiful! When you resize from 12 x 12 at 300 dpi, you might want to try 7 x 7 at 72 dpi, that has worked well for me. My files usually end up between 200 to 300 KB. 72 dpi is the standard for posting to the web. Keep up the great work!
