Sweetie...March Desktop

Well, shucks. I couldn't get into the chat tonight. :monstercry:

My attempt at a new technique was using Christy Vanderwall's tutorial on making your own charms with the Worn Seals brushes. Mine didn't quite look the same as hers. Oh well. I still like it. And I used the new dynamic stitches and frame. (I didn't take the time to add realistic stitch holes! lol)

This was the day after my sweetie proposed...the day after Christmas. :)

Really pretty charlene! Your charm looks great!

If it is any consolation, I had a hard time 're-creating' my charm for the tutorial too!! :disappearing-smilie:

Some tips...start off MUCH bigger than what you want the actual charm to be, apply the styles until you have the look you want, when you are happy with it, right-click on the layer and click 'simplify' before shrinking down to size (this keeps the style intact when reducing the size - but you can't remove the style once it is simplified). This helped me get the text crisper. Lots of playing is the secret!!

Thanks Christy. I was too tired to try to figure things out more. lol

I just learned today (was that your tutorial in the newsletter today) about combining 2 styles. So, my tag only had one style since the 2nd one kept over-riding the first one. lol

I'll keep at it though. Practice makes perfect, right? :)
