Sisters and Friends - Week 2 Homework #1

Here's my first entry (finally) for this past week's homework. I was going for the feel of playful and natural (like "in nature"). I chose some florals (well leaves at least), a stripe (and, yes, I managed to get all of my colors in one paper!), as well as a faint polka dot (as part of the background). I repeated the polka dots on the ribbons, and the floral accents and colors around the LO. Focal point, large photo (hope you can tell...LOL!). Overall I am very pleased with this LO. Once again I got stuck on the embellishments...too much, too few, placement??? I think it came out fairly balanced with white space resent also, though there was more before I added the journaling.

Thanks to Shari for sharing her LO using this sketch (MAD_Sketch11 from Marnie's Scrapbooking 911 eBook). Just seeing your gorgeous LO got me over my block on what to do with the vertical ribbons. :yippee:

Please give any constructive comments on this one as usual.

Happy Scrapping.

Debbie

oh....I went BOLD with my bright PINK on this one...though the others are my usual deep, nature-esque colors.

Wow Debbie! This is so perfect! Your colors are perfect (all of them are in the photo), the splash of pink is perfect, everything! Even the embellishments! Great job!

PS - I'm really glad seeing my LO helped you past your block! :D

This is great, Debbie! I love the color scheme-the picture and the striped paper tie everything together. I love the pop of pink because it gives the layout a fun, youthful, playful feeling. Great choice with all of the patterned papers-you have a nice variety. They all work together really well.

As for embellishments, I think that is a personal taste. Some people like lots, while others only like to use a few. As long as it fits with the mood you want to create, and you have plenty of white space, what ever you like works. I like what you've used-personally I wouldn't change anything. :)
