Elizabeth Ann Stout Cox Memories

I make my heritage layouts busy because I have so many histories and photos of my ancestors and want to give my children an overview of their ancestors' lives. I put just enough on the page that they will want to read more.

My aunt went to all of the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. and scanned their photos with a promise that she would give them a disk with all of the photos from everyone. Now we have a wonderful collection. Each family had only one or two or so, but when we combined them, we have a treasure! I have also found relatives online who have shared their photos and histories of the ancestors. When we share, we all "win".

Journaling: Pegasus & Lucida Calligraphy

I’ve learned the Lord doesn’t give us anything our backs can’t bear. Elizabeth Ann Stout Cox

“Lizzie was the dress-maker & sales woman of the house.

She did most of the buying, especially the shoes. She was a

good judge of leather.”

She lived with her son Warren. He installed an indoor bathroom and she refused to use it. When questioned as to why, she told him, “Why should I let everyone in the house know what I am doing?” His retort, “No but you let everyone in the neighborhood know when you use the outhouse” convinced her to use the more convenient indoor bathroom.

Wow! I love the matching frames, the soft colors. That's a lot of pics for such a long time ago. Great journalling, now I want to read more! What a lucky thing your family searched for and found roots.

incredible LO! I love the coloring! It is perfect with the

ancestor photos! You are so very lucky to have an aunt who

was able to convince everyone to share photos!!! My aunt and I

have been working on genealogy together, on and off, for about 15

years - my grandfather actually did a TON of it in the early 1960s....

BUT I haven't been able to convince my aunt to share photos yet...

maybe if I take the computer and scanner to her house!!

I love the journaling, too. It is so nice that you know so much about

your ancestor - and that you are putting it on paper to share with your

kids and future family generations!

I like all that information on one page........it really isn't too busy as far as I'm concerned.

Ancestors! Aren't they wonderful......there ain't nothing like old family pictures and stories to match.

Great job!

What an awesome LO! I am trying to incorporate more "story" into my heritage LOs, and this is very inspiring. And what a tremendous thing for your aunt to do . . . Love this.
