Aunt Margaret

If I have all my facts straight this was a scan of a tin type of Aunt Margaret taken when she was about 15. That would be about 1886. The odd thing about this picture is that she is wearing glasses. In all of the years I knew my great aunt I never saw her without glasses, but I was very surprised to see this on one so young.

Thanks to Syndee Nuckles for the great A Waltz to Remember Kit. I used it almost exclusively except for a little brush work here and there and the journaling tag. The kit is so perfect for these old pictures.

This is # 2 in my Heritage Album.

This is absolutely Beautiful Joy! Yeah I'm not surprised that they had glasses back then I think they started making them in the early 1820's (don't quote me on that!) and people back then were teased being called four eyes which hurt then as do now. I love how you used that kit...its gonna go in my kaboodle!

The colors you chose look wonderful with this picture. I have an entire album of old tintypes from my grandfather. You've inspired me to do something with them. Beautiful LO.

Like Sandi above me, your beautiful heritage layout has inspired me to work on my own again. I just love how you've used the Waltz to Remember collection. It is just about perfect, isn't it? Very complete, yet concise journaling. I so admire the ability to let the photo and a few words tell the story. Great job. Can't wait to see more in your heritage album.

Joy this is so beautiful and you have given me some inspiration.I am working on restoring a photo of my great grandmother aged 18 ,and from around the same period. What has struck me is that although they are both distinctive women ,the photo makes them appear older than their age.How times have changed. If only the photos could speak.I never knew my great gran and I would have loved to ask her about the day the photo was taken.

WowW this is SO good!

A real tin type! I didn't think there were any left anywhere! I have seen a few in museums.

Amazing work and a great way to preserve the image!
