Hummingbirds - Color challenge 8/2/2008

This color challenge was perfect for the pictures I've been taking of our hummingbirds!

Journaling: I had been thinking about trying to attract hummingbirds for awhile when I read a thread about them on the Scrapgirls messageboard and was motivated to finally do it! Two days after putting up our feeder, we finally saw some hummingbirds. I love watching them and trying to capture their charm with my camera. Kiera named our first

hummingbird Fabio. When we saw the pictures we realized Fabio was a female! We kept the name anyway and Fabio regularly visits us and doesn’t seem to mind that I’m sitting nearby enjoying her antics and photographing her and her friends. I now have three feeders and have become a passionate admirer of these little birds!

Great Layout!! I would never have thought of a hummingbird LO with a yellow and green theme. You did a very good job! Aren't hummingbirds the neatest little birds?

Beautiful!. That's really a nice thing to do. Now maybe I'm inspired to put out a feeder too. Beautiful pics and Love the way you've arranged them.

How cool...you got some great shots and they've come together on this LO beautifully with the color challenge. Great journaling too...just shows their more to learn from Scrap Girls than meets the eye.

I love your layout of the hummers. I have feeders in my yard, and get a few to watch. My sister lives out further from the city, and she gets so many that she has to fill her three feeders several times a day. I am jealous, but I don't know that I'd be up to making that much food. Just wanted you to know your layout is great.

Nice job showcasing the hummers. They're one of my favorite birds, too, along with goldfinch. But the little hummers seem to be the only bird that doesn't mind when people are close, so it's easier for me to get their pictures. Now, if they were as big as the goldfinch, the close-ups would be awesome! Mine seem to love running water. They come real close to the hose when I'm watering the garden. Do yours?
