I'm in awe of all the great layouts being submitted for this challenge, and also amazed at how so many have a touch of Disney (quotes, settings, etc.). Hope I don't bore you all with yet another Disney layout.
This layout was inspired by a layout done by Angie Briggs that was included in the July 24th issue of the newsletter, and forms part of my scrapbook for our November 06 trip.
Materials used
Fonts: CK Ali’s Writing (downloaded from Creating Keepsakes), Waltograph and Lassus
Background papers: Syndee Nuckle’s Maritime from her By the Sea collection and Theresa Kavouras’ CombatNAVY_ShipPlankSPECIAL (color enhanced to match the wood in our cabin and on the bridge)
Embellishments: Syndee Nuckle’s Sunshine from her Happy Summer collection; ribbons from Kerry Veale’s French Board kit; alpha from Angie Brigg’s HisNHer collection; Melissa Renfro’s Lifted Photos and Lifted Photos—Weathered frames

“I’m one of those ‘Disney saps.’ Show me IllumiNations, I cry. If I watch Wishes, I cry. Even certain commercials have been known to elicit a tear. And when I hear ‘When You Wish upon a Star,’ yes, I cry. So what does what was this Disney-loving soul to do? Book a cruise on a ship whose horn is a one-note blare? No, of course not! The Disney ship horns play ‘When You Wish upon a Star’!
"The whole cruise was an emotional experience for me. Being able to go was such a joyful experience and I felt so very blessed. It was wonderful that the crew took Ben under their wing and did so many things to make this trip special for him: the constant flow of treats in our cabin, Ben’s amazing birthday cake, the rental package on Castaway Cay, Ben’s private meet and greet with the characters, and Karen’s presence making sure that everything was going well, were all so incredibly special. But the most magical thing by far was when Ben was asked to sound the ship’s horn as we left Castaway Cay. We arrived early, had a tour of the bridge, met the Captain and the First Mates, and then Ben pressed the magic button and those seven notes sounded. And surprise of surprises, I didn’t cry! (But I am now...)"
