Those are so cute! I'm sure your boys are going to love using them!

These are so cute! Way cuter than the ones I did a few years ago - they were just plain words . . . I love how you used the "Little Friends" animals.

What a great idea, Charlene! One of those things I wish I'd had about 15 years ago! TFS

WTG Charlene! They came out so cute. I'm most amazed by your forethought...I never would have thought to put the little dot on there to know where to punch. As one of our girls is fond of saying these days, "You're a GENIUS!" I'll file that away for another project.

Great work and TFS!

Wow Charlene, these are really cool, thanks for sharing them with us. I am eagerly awaiting my son's list to get on and make some myself now.

Very creative. And the dot where the hole is punched is a great idea.

This is what I'm working on today too. I like the idea of leaving the background white. The little animals are adorable, but for my GS, I need them to be identical. I don't want him to "read" the animal, just the word. He will remember which word goes with each animal so they can't have any cues on the card except the letters. I'm making his with bright borders. Again I have to stick with one color for each set. I'm doing them in sets of 20. All the no decorations and same colors were suggestions from his teacher. He's having some difficulty with reading so we're working really hard with him. He's made huge progress over the summer so should be at grade level starting first grade. The best thing is he likes learning and so this is a fun thing for him.

Hey. I added a comment in the description about that.
That had actually gone through my mind...that they might do a word-picture association. So, I tested them out with having my 3 middle finger-tips covering up the picture when I show the card. They (the boys) seemed to do fine either way. I'll just mix it up every now and then. Sometimes cover the picture, somtimes not.

And thanks for your comments ladies. :)
