We visited England for the first time when we met our son who was coming home from serving a mission there. It was a magical place for us, and I still get goose bumps when I remember the astonishment we felt when a place mentioned in my Great Grandma's journal materialized in a large farming area in Canterbury. Journaling: The high point of our trip to England was finding the manor house & little chapel that belonged to an ancestral family, the Knowltons, built c.1291: 200 yrs. before Columbus! The inscription around the window & the beautiful condition created a sense of reverence there. I felt connected to this ancestor who came to America before our country’s birth. I’m grateful my family roots were a believing family who provided a place to worship.
