I finally finished it! You can see what I was talking about in the chat with the small photos and how you can't really read the signs. I need to e-mail this to my husband's computer so I can see it on the big screen. On this little laptop screen it's really hard to imagine how this will look at full 12 x 12 size.
This is one place we wandered to on our trip to Victoria last May. I have SO many photos from that trip that I'm having to group them into the categories of things we did. I still have many left to scrap.
See if you can figure out how I doctored the background photo to make it fit the page. :-) I couldn't get a decent blend for the water into a plain background so I copied a section of the water and pasted it below the photo. I had to turn it upside down, though, so the water colour would match, which meant I had to turn part of the chain back over so it was right side up. It was an interesting venture, to say the least. I'm glad the sky blended more easily just by using some grunge brushes.
For the block of photos I did just as I suggested in the chat - used a white stroke around each photo. I had to then add a bit with a square brush, though, because where the photos met the corners rounded in instead of going straight across, if that makes sense. It was pretty easy to do, though. (I use PSE 5.)
Supplies:
brushes - BVA Grungelle; MST Stamped Dates
word art - BHA Abtract Expressionism
font - Elfring Elite
Journalling:
This delightful little dock was just around the bay from our hotel. With quaint boat houses and fresh seafood stands, it seemed to have a culture all its own. Fishermen chatted with each other, even on the drizzly morning of our visit. Grilligan's "paddle-up window" gave us both a good laugh. We could just imagine paddling by in a small dinghy to pick up our fish and chips on our way home to one of teh boat houses along the dock - then to eat the take-out seafood while enjoying the sun from a lawn chair on the deck as we watched the otters swim by.
