Journaling;
Taking my first breath at 30 feet below the surface was one of the most magical moments of my life on so many levels. Certainly being able to move weightlessly among the creatures of this beautiful and mysterious world as if I were one of them was magical in of itself. But it was also a life changing experience for me. From the moment I reached the bottom and looked around at the vastness of this beautiful creation we call the ocean, I knew I would never be the same. Diving became more than a hobby, it became my vocation for 4 years - even turning it into a full time business. That career is behind me now but I've come away with some great friends, memories of the most gorgeous places on earth, and skills that carry into my life today. Skills such as being a good buddy is as important as having a good buddy; don't rush to the top, instead do a slow ascent while breathing normally, and most of all move slowly and deliberately - flailing only stirs things up and makes it hard to see where you're going.
