Ok I'm taking you out to lunch!

I'm putting this into my blessings gallery because even though I struggle with the flying thing it truely is a huge blessing to be able to share with my DH his dream of flying and he so loves it when I go flying with him.

I used:

ASO Textured Cardstock

TYO Movie Mania

VRA Journalling 2

JHI Curled Edges

ABR His and Hers

Fonts: Minion Pro, Flowerchild.

The journalling maybe a bit hard to read but it says:

Dave walked in from milking and said "Ok I'm taking you out to lunch"

Excitedly I said

"Oh OK where are we going?"

"Omarama"

"What! That is six hours away"

"We are going to fly"

"Oh OK"

The excitement was replaced with

"I can do this" type of nervousness.

We headed off to Rangiora. Mike and Caroline were coming with us.

First stop was Ashburton, then on to Timaru then inland over my beloved mountains.

The view was so lovely and when we approached Lake Benmore the reflections were just so stunning.

I was a little frustrated because I don't know enough about my new camera to really capture

the beauty that lay before me.

As we flew up the Lake the colours just took my breath away.

I kept looking at Dave saying "this is awesome" with the biggest grin on my face.

We had a lovely lunch and then flew back home in just over an hour and a half. Bit quicker than driving!

Ngaire, this takes my breath away! What a precious story to tell also. I would not change a thing. Now if you could only come to lunch in Indiana...I think it would take more than just 90 minutes though! Again, this is just gorgeous.

Wowsers! A true blessing indeed to have a DH do that for you and to see this part of God's creation from the air. You are truly blessed.

Wow, wow.

I'm not much of a flyer myself. Only flew once. Well, twice: there and back. lol Didn't see anything like this, though. What gorgeous photos and love the story. I like your curled edge and fading at top.

Ngaire - the moment I saw the scenery on this LO I thought that it was the Southern Alps - and then seeing your name and journaling it was nice to see that I can still remember my home country! I LOVE your journaling! It just makes the LO that much more special - and it's done so wonderfully. I love the font you've used ... kind of carefree like the statement made by your husband, I love your colours, but I have to admit I just love glimpsing my old home country.

BTW - I'm heading back next month for two weeks. Not hitting the South Island unfortunately so I'll have to content myself with catching glimpses of Aotearoa in LOs like this one! Wonderful, wonderful job!! So glad you enjoyed your flight too - my husband has taken me on several (one over the Grand Canyon) and we got to do a loop-de-loop and an ayleron (sp?) roll which was really cool!! I hope you get to do more flying with you DH so we get to see more of these gorgeous LOs of yours!

As soon as I saw this, I knew this was Central!!! Not sure what there is at Omarama for lunch (we have only driven through it many times, never stopped!) but the views more than make up for it, don't they! You have done such a great job showcasing these photos. Love the way you've done the journalling like a fairytale book!

This is truly an awe-inspiring LO! The photos are gorgeous! What a fun title you used. Boy if my hubby said he was taking me to luck 6 hours away in a plane, I'd be in the car before you could shake your fist! Your journaling on this LO really makes it extra special. Wonderful job!

What beautiful pictures and a great story. I really liked the curled edge on the bottom. I have been trying to use that kind of embellishment and had not thought of it that way.

The pictures of those awe-inspiring mountains really caught my attention, and after reading the title I just had to read the whole thing. It's a great story! Love the photos, love the journaling.
